Presidential debates 2020

Is there any point in having presidential debates this year? I can't imagine that anyone in the US is up in the air with who they are voting for and are waiting to see how the candidates do in the debates to decide.

reply

Absolutely! We need entertainment!
Trump will demolish Finger Rapist Racist Quid Pro Quo Joe Basement Biden.
It'll be quite a show.

reply

I don't know..., Trumps cavalcade of lies and broken promises may catch up to him on the debate stage.

reply

You mean the lies the media tells us about him.

reply

No
The lies from 17,000 Tweets!

reply

You get your information from fake news, that's the problem.

reply

Are Trumps Tweets fake news?

reply

His tweets aren't a news organization, you're deflecting.

By your logic Obama was fake news as well, he said you can order an automatic weapon online with no background check which is a lie.

reply

No, you don't understand..., I only get my news from Trumps Tweets.

I don't watch or listen to news organizations like Fox, CNN etc.

If I can't trust my president, then who can I trust!?!

reply

I’d stick with Fox they are pretty reliable and objective. And FYI I never said President Trump was perfect he isn’t, I disagree with him for not prosecuting Hillary Clinton and only relying on any one persons twitter account for information is dumb but he certainly is more honest than Obummer

reply

Lol!

reply

Well you asked for my advice and I gave it. Sounds like you're the problem here, but whatever.

reply

Biden can’t debate. He can’t even speak. He won’t be on the ballot in November.

reply

He's going to be in a tough position, if he won't agree to defunding the police then he won't get support from his whole base, but if he does then swing voters are going to go to Trump.

reply

Yes, he himself hasn't said anything. A statement was made, but not by him. He's in a pickle.

reply

Call in a body double!

I wouldn't put it past them. 😏

reply

All of the answers so far prove my point, everyone has already decided who they are voting for. So why have debates? Why even have conventions? Everyone knows everything that they need to know about each candidate already.

Also, who cares if either candidate is a good debater or not. The president's job doesn't require debating. The only time a president needs to participate in a debate is when they are running for reelection.

reply

Because fake news can't hide the debate. Everyone can hear the answers out of both of their mouths for themselves, not their version of answers told by the MSM.

But real questions need to be asked. Not stupid ones. Not weak ones. Not PC ones.

Voters deserve the debate to make a better informed decision. This helps the people who don't follow politics closely but vote anyway. People should know what they're voting for/against but many don't. This is why MSM tries so hard to hide the truth.
If I didn't pay attention, I would certainly think Donald Trump was an idiot.

reply

People who don't follow politics usually don't watch the debates either. The debates are primarily for political junkies who want to see how their candidate does. Then regardless of what happened they say that their candidate won the debate.

reply

I know plenty who don't care up until the two go head to head.
This presidential election will be even bigger than the last one. I think a lot of people would tune in.

You're point is valid though too.
