‘One racist down. Hundreds in office to go’ - King's defeat is a significant first step

The applause and cheers across America for White Supremacist Steve King's defeat in the GOP Iowa primary has been deafening, to say the least.

" Goodbye, Rep. Steve King. You are certainly not the only white supremacist in federal government, but you were among the most prominent. It’s a shame Republicans held you up as long as they did.” - Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The chorus of cheers and applause over White Supremacist Steve King's defeat in the GOP Iowa primary has grown louder and louder in the past two days. After 18 years in the House of Representatives, he's out, losing to challenger Sen. Randy Feenstra.

Progressive radio host Benjamin Dixon echoed that sentiment, tweeting: “One racist down. Hundreds in office to go.”

Like Dixon, progressive Americans acknowledge there's more racists in the GOP to get out in November, but this ouster in the primary is a significant first step. They caution that in order to remove all racists and their influence, they need to boot Feenstra out, too, and replace King with Democratic challenger Sen. Randy Feenstra.

Reporter Li Zhou noted, “Feenstra’s policy platform isn’t significantly different from King’s: Much like Trump, he’s anti-abortion and supports hardline immigration policies including building a border wall.”

I don't use the term racist very often but King definitely fits the bill.

Yes, he's one of many. I can't believe some of the shit that came out of his mouth just in the past year alone!
