Sadly, Liberals have a hard time understanding that if businesses are shut for too long, they close down, and people who worked for them lose their livelihood and the ability to feed and house themselves. Many of them may decide to riot out of desperation. Actually, I think Liberals understand that very well. Most Liberals are probably hoping for that to happen. They would think of nation-wide riots and social breakdown as positive progress in their war against President Trump.

shareIf the coronavirus was a permanent problem then I might agree with you. That's not the case. If the economy stops, it can start back up again when the virus is behind us. But if we're all sent back to work, we'll be making the virus last longer.
shareI'm not saying EVERYONE goes back to normal routines. Just the low-risk groups. Keep the aged and those with health conditions quarantined while the younger, healthier people go back to work. Even among the extremely old, coronavirus is not an automatic death sentence. Only about 12% of that group who get ill actually die.
Another problem is, China is pretty much up and running again. They will have a giant lead on the rest of the world while the rest of us are lying on our couches watching NetFlix. Who knows what they might try to pull off?
First of all, the only reason republican politicians are spewing the talking point you are repeating is because their donors are all free to quarantine themselves indefinitely but need the working class to run things so their quarantine is as comfy as possible. It's a class battle, not an age one.
Secondly, China has been lying about their numbers for weeks. All you need to do is check https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/china/ to see their recovered numbers are full of shit.
Regardless of their numbers, they are indeed operating again and getting ahead of the rest of the world every day.
And getting the country working again is NOT as simple as "the rich need comforts". It involves keeping the poor working people from starving and keeping our infrastructure from collapsing.
