Dems Got Some Of Their Pork Instead Of Giving More To The People!

And they care so much! 🙄

“Pelosi was a force behind $400 million in grants to states to expand voting by mail and other steps that Democrats billed as making voting safer but Republican critics called political opportunism.

Museums, libraries and arts organizations across the country, which have been closing because of the pandemic, could get a boost from grants to state arts and humanities organizations.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which has been closed until May, would get $25 million so it can reopen its doors once the crisis is over.”

I ask again what in the hell does the above have to do with immediate relief for those who have been furloughed or lost their jobs. Nothing! Nada! Put those funds into the pockets of folks who need it now! To pay rent, to pay their monthly bills. Deal with the Dems “Pork” wants later!

And those dastardly Reps don’t care about people as evidenced below!

“Republicans won inclusion of an employee retention tax credit that's estimated to provide $50 billion to companies that retain employees on payroll and cover 50% of workers' paycheck up to $10,000. Companies would also be able to defer payment of the 6.2% Social Security payroll tax.”

In other words if a company receives relief they have to continue paying their employees! There is going to be an oversight committee to make sure it’s done!

And...this is for you “ultravio”:

“Companies receiving assistance would be barred from raising the pay of certain executives.

Any company receiving a government loan would be prohibited from buying back stocks while getting assistance as well for an additional year.”

Now, do some more bitching about how the Corps. are getting most of the funds and the workers get “scraps”!

reply

“Voting safer”. Glad she didn’t slip and say cheating safer. Biden will if they ever let him out in public again.

They’ll have him on the Ginsburg life support machine soon. #sad

None of this would've been happening if the moron-in-chief Trump had been working to contain the virus instead of calling it a hoax for months. The worst and laziest president in the history of the U.S..

reply

And yet your candidate wouldn't have contained it at all. So not only would the situation be the same, it actually would've been worse. You're such a hypocrite, kkk.

reply

pubs got Neil Gorsuch, pubs got their 2018 tax break for the rich. You think they have our best interest in mind? No way we just let pubs write legislation and send it through. Snakes in the grass, and you know it.

Do you even know what that pork is compared to McConnell's $500 billion?

I must say...a most intelligent reply. I know. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Words failed you.

Looks like reality has hit a nerve.

I’m happy you finally have faced reality. Doesn’t it feel good to come into the light? Getting the following did that for you.

“Companies receiving assistance would be barred from raising the pay of certain executives.

Any company receiving a government loan would be prohibited from buying back stocks while getting assistance as well for an additional year.” No scraps for the little folks who keep the country’s engine running! Yay!

Just for you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW-0kbIcf1E

reply

I'm sorry you don't understand that $500 billion is well over a thousand times more than $400 million. $400 million is a drop in the bucket by comparison.

reply

I chose to ignore the witless replies and treat them with the frivolity they deserve. 🙄 You are by far one of the most dispirited people I have run across.😟

reply

You chose to ignore 1,000 pieces of right-wing pork, but focused on 1 single piece of left-wing pork. Then you patted yourself on the back for a job well done.

Biased just a wee bit? Believe what you will. Doesn’t denote intelligence. I prefer facts being listed...not just the same old mundane debatable beliefs. 🥱

These are your sources? They are nothing but liberal rags. The first one is so profane and hate filled I won’t read the garbage. It needs to be thrown in the incinerator! I couldn’t open the last one, but that’s OK due to it probably falls in line with the others. It’s no wonder your mind is so warped against the Republicans. You have been brainwashed and completely refuse to see maybe there is another side...maybe an objective view which deals in facts. Look for objective news. You would be an ideal person akin to the Manchurian Candidate!

Did you read the last sentences in my OP directed toward you? The final plan makes the above sources moot. No $500 billion slush fund! An oversight committee to make sure the money goes into the workers pockets. Corps cannot pocket the funds. If they receive funds they have to keep the workers employed! The Democrat’s concerns & hold-up have been addressed & resolved. No $500 billion given without oversight. A big difference from 2008.

I support them on this, but do away with the extra pork the Dems want.

reply

Here's my source, skippy. It's called basic math... something you struggle with.

$2,000,000,000,000 divided by 330,000,000 people...
That equals roughly $6000 for every man, woman and child.

Is every man, woman and child getting a check for $6,000? Helllllll no.

Is every man, woman and child even getting a check? Nope.

Kids will not get checks. Something like $600 will be added per child to the adult's check. And that adult's original payout will likely be in the $1,200 range. And that's IF the adult makes less than $75k per year single, or $150k per year married. So that's a lot of families not getting checks.

On top of that are the people below the poverty level for years that haven't filed in years. Yes if they file this year they will likely get a check, but no matter how you slice it, the average payout for 327,000,000 people is going to end up being below $1,000 for every man, woman and child. You can't get around that, yet the government is still spending $2 trillion.

But those darn democrats and their $400 million in pork. Okay, ya got me. Dems took a dollar and two dimes from every man, woman and child. Shame on them.

Now kindly tell me where the FUCK the rest of that $5,000+ PER PERSON is going? Because it sure as shit isn't going to the people.

Oh no, I swore. Yes, because this bullshit pisses me off. And people like you defend it. It makes me absolutely disgusted to the core.

reply

Somewhere, somehow...common sense left you behind. You are a witless twit. 🙄🤪 You need to take a course in civics, but you wouldn’t understand it so why bother!

You really don’t understand how it works, do you? Just because there is a relief package of 2.2 Trillion doesn’t mean it’s divided evenly among the population of the U.S. Some is going to small businesses to keep them afloat in order to keep folks employed. Some is going to the workers to help them pay rent, mortgages, etc. until they get their jobs back. Some is going to people to help with daycare expenses. Unemployment benefits will be extended longer than normal. The airlines will be receiving assistance to keep them flying in order to save jobs and to keep low fares. Amtrak is getting assistance resulting in jobs saved.

Please don’t show your ignorance by believing the 2.2 Trillion was only going to the people evenly divided. If you truly believed such you should be ashamed to post your ignorance. This is the result of our public education today? Pitiful! Just pitiful!

reply

Oh I knew damn well it wasn't going to the people evenly. I said before anyone else on here it was going to big corporations like Boeing and other airlines. "No, no, no, it's to help the working class" the Trumpers claimed. Now we're back to square one. So yeah, if you make over $75k you don't get a check. But hey, if you make millions, you get a bailout of hundreds of thousands so your planes can sit on the runway.

Stimulus: $2.2 trillion
Price for every person to get a check: $350 billion (they didn't, but for argument sake)
2.2 trillion - 350 billion = 1.85 trillion
So that's a whopping $1.85 trillion going to businesses

Dems' pork: $400 million
1.85 trillion - 400 million = 1.8496 trillion

That would be $1.8496 trillion for those businesses instead of $1.85 trillion.

And you say the dems took money away from hard working Americans? You can't be serious, skippy.

reply

So let me ask you what happens if the corps go under, where do people's jobs go?

reply

And Math has failed you...

reply

It really is pathetic. $2 trillion divided by the US population is roughly $6,000 per person. They aren't getting half of that. Hell, they aren't getting a quarter of that. And skippy is bitching about the dems taking a dollar.

reply

Some stuff that Biden should do if he could have won next year. Lots of thank you union things.Typical of what unions pull.
The union said it will be selling the masks to states, counties and hospitals for $5 apiece and claims it “has no financial interest in the transactions.”
Similar N95 masks are available on the Home Depot website for $23.97 for a box of 20, or about $1.20 apiece.
