Why Joe Biden will lose to Trump

The people over the age of 60 live and breathe Fox News. We already know who they're going to vote for in November.

The people below the age of 40 are looking for real change, but Status Quo Joe and the entire DNC left them behind in 2016 and are continuing to do so by calling them socialists.

That leaves the people between 40 and 60 where Status Quo Joe finally gets to shine.

What will the dems' excuse be when Status Quo Joe fails to boomer his way to the presidency? Bernie Bros? Russia? Ukraine?

reply

Wait until those people who live and breathe Fox news see their investment statements at the end of this month. People like stability and security but Trump = chaos.

reply

Stability? How does Biden offer stability? He doesn't even know the state he's at. He can't even remember his "boss'" name. That's a lot of stability.

reply

They just saw their retirement wiped out. Just like in 2008, they will come to their senses and vote against the republicans and Fox.

reply

Sensible people which you are not will realize that the market has gone down because of something not controllable by Trump. the coronavirus is not Trump's fault no matter how much you want it to be. Stop rooting for the stock market to crash and stop cheering for the spread of the coronavirus, you are disgusting

reply

trump is a walking dumpster fire. If people of any age don't recognize this then I have no hope for this country. Screw the founding fathers. They didn't foresee this heresy and would not approve. But it makes for one HELLuva reality show, right?

reply

Move to Venezuela. It's Michael Moore endorsed. He's part of the 1% too. You respect him, yes?

reply

Then why is T-rump so worried about the stock market these days and how it's going to doom his re-election? Do explain....

reply

Because today's Liberals are some of the most loudest stupidest people out there and will creep spreading their b******* forever

reply

LOL! So T-rump is afraid his devoted T-rumptards will turn their backs on him and listen to the loud, stupid liberals come election day? LOL!

Please, explain more! This is getting really good....

reply

See that, dogdump? I told you people can see right through your vitriol. Spare us your sanctimonious chepooka. You don't care about peoples retirement. They're just collateral damage in order to spew your Orange Man Bad agenda. What about your retirement? Doesn't it affect you? Oh yeah. You don't have any voluntary retirement contributions. Such a despicable wretched person you are.

reply

"How's your 409K doing? Down 90%? 80%? 70%? Only 50%? What are you doing wrong ?" - T-rump, March 11, 2020.

reply

Like a broken record, you can't change your tune and with an empty head, you can't think up any new insults. I told you you were stupid and witless. Here's the proof once again. 🤪🤪🤪

reply

T-rump is a broken record. You nailed it!

reply

I would like to hope trump has done enough damage to his own credibility that any moderate American will turn their backs on such a clown show. For whatever Joe's shortcomings might be, he won't surround himself with policy amateurs whose only reason to exist are to make their leader look like somebody who mistakenly think he's a "very stable genius." trump's cabinet churn is more than enough evidence that he's adrift when it comes to policy. He's only concerned with his image, which is in tatters to all but the reddest of the red, (which used to be reserved for communists, not surprisingly).

reply

Hopefully Biden loses. He's obviously out of his mind. He's already telling people at his own rally to vote for Trump, and in another clip he can't even remember who he was Vice President for. People think Trump is crazy but Biden is nuts. I can't believe his family continues to let him repeatedly make a fool of himself when he obviously needs medical help.

I voted for and will vote for Trump again, but I can’t laugh at this. To me this is sad. He’s pitiful. His time has come and gone. Reminded me of John McCain when he was running against Obama. Both men were probably good statesmen in their time, but there comes a time to hang it up.

reply

B/c Bernie and his supporters will do what they did last time?

B/c Bernie will begrudgingly give Biden a lukewarm endorsement and his supporters will stay home or worse? And they'll do this while calling Trump an existential threat in the next breath?

Time for Bernie to drop out -- unless it's more about him and his flagging "revolution" than actually beating Trump. Those younger people are looking for real change, yet they can't seem to find the voting booth in these primaries.

reply

If Bernie bros staying home is such a problem for the DNC, you'd think the DNC would smarten up and not pull the strings against their candidate.

reply

To deny that there's fewer people "Feeling the Bern" in 2020 as opposed to 2016 is to deny reality. He called out to the people to join and expand his revolution, but they answered with a contraction at the polls instead. Bernie should listen to that feedback even if he's convinced himself that he knows what's best for everyone. Like Trump, he has his own cult of personality. If you disagree with him, you're wrong.

reply

The Bernie campaign wasn't relying on people feeling the Bern. They relied on using the money they had to get at least 30% of each state. You may think that's low, but it's more than any other campaign was doing, which is why Bernie's campaign was doing better than all the others. Then Super Tuesday happened where Obama made his phone calls to Buttigieg, Klobuchar and O'Rourke, telling them all to support Biden right before Super Tuesday. There was no way for Bernie's camp to switch to a 51% strategy.

It took everyone by surprise, including Nate Silver and Fivethirtyeight. They are where the DNC looks for stats. They saw Fivethirtyeight's numbers showing Bernie potentially getting a majority after Super Tuesday. The DNC assembled like the Avengers vs Thanos.

The problem with the progressive movement is they don't have the same level of backroom deals. There was no way to leverage Yang, Warren, Gabbard and Steyer the way the DNC establishment can.

So I guess "Bernie bros" stay home again. I guess it's their fault again. Aww shucks.

reply

Another problem with the progressive movement is that those young people who love an idealogue's simple and broad strokes, don't come out and vote. Pretending that the establishment stopped them from doing so is an argument of convenience that ignores an obvious problem. They're more inclined to tantrum in protest than to show up and support. Trump brought people out in droves for his revolution in 2016 primaries -- despite the establishment dismissing him (and his organization on the ground) as a joke. He was more of an outsider than Bernie is relative to the Dems. Both he and Bernie struck chords but Trump's was louder.

Sanders didn't retain the people from 2016 and he didn't add new support to replace and expand. That was a problem from the start, before Super Tues. Hillary was a more potent establishment contender in 2016 than Biden is in 2020 -- yet they showed up more for that fight. Need to look in the mirror. A "revolution" is always an uphill climb against an establishment. But some are able to do it. Ask Trump. Bernie's message isn't as resonant as he wants you to believe. The numbers reflect that. If you connect with enough people, the same establishment that tried to kill you will fall in behind you. Again, ask Trump. Or ask Obama, for that matter.

reply

Never again will I give my countrymen the benefit of the doubt concerning these elections. Never again will I assume they couldn't possibly get more stupid. Donald's election (and subsequent three years of chaos and insanity) has proven to me beyond the shadow of a doubt four things:

1. There are a LOT of stupid people here in America

2. Americans fear change and stick to what they know--especially their party

3. Our government is not only corrupt but its system of checks and balances is flawed, flimsy and useless

4. We are not a free nation and haven't been for a long time. Donald is doing his best to tear that veil off.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if this POS wins again.

HOWEVER...

I have more hope now than I did before that he might not win and it's because of the virus and stock market/economy.

People always said it might take an economic crash to make him lose the election or a national emergency. We're on the precipice of both.

reply

I keep saying trump is not what America stands for, the shining beacon on the hill. the light of Democracy. There is so much support from his base, race and class baiting that is taken as normal for this term is appalling to me.
Pro-trumpers have no shame in floating any garbage theory (birtherism, anyone?) but claim innocence when the rest of us call out djt for his lies. It's disgusting and a mockery of our nation's politics.

reply

I'm sorry to say but Trump IS what America stands for...at least a third of it. THAT much of our country stands for what Donald preaches. It's a scary reality but it's time for us to embrace that reality and find a way to change that (futile as it is).

Trumpers are a minority, yes, but their numbers are significant. 65 Million is nothing to scoff at. THAT much of our population holds to those ideals.

Donald's election proved just how grossly divided we are. It proved just how prevalent racism still it. It also proved that, given enough corruption, our government could enact a Christian Sharia Law type construct, making us really no different from the Islamic terrorists.

I've had to accept many things since Trump's election and one of the biggest I've had to accept is this: there are a lot of bad people here in America...many of them Trump supporters (not all, but many) and many of them dems as well. Both sides.

While I'm an independent, I'm mainly taking the side of the dems right now for two big reasons: we have a common enemy: TRUMP and I consider them the lesser of two evils at this point in history. Regardless, our two-party system is flawed, our election system archaic and our government too damn corrupt from both sides.

Things will never improve if we keep staying the course and...I see no sign of deviation. If Donald Trump isn't the wake-up call then nothing will be.

I've had to sit here and watch since 2016 a massive portion of our population literally accept any and every form of corruption from Trump and his people in a cult-like fashion.

For the first time in my life I've found myself truly asking with conviction: How can we call ourselves better than our enemies?

I'm not a political person. I HATE politics. I started discussing them only after Trump in the running. That's how bad he is--it got me, a completely apolitical person, talking politics. That's how concerned I was and still am. Scary. I never thought I'd spend three years discussing politics. I'd like to go back to NOT discussing them again (if that's possible) but I need a president in the White House that doesn't scare the shit out of me and make me wonder if our country will even exist within a year. I'd accept Sanders or Biden because, while they're both old and (for many reasons) unfit for the job, they're at least "old normal" and what you'd expect from a president. I can live with that. They're table dressing and little more. That's fine by me. After three years of Trump turmoil, I'm exhausted.

I actually have a family member like Trump. Gaslighting, constant drama, ego, victim complex--etc. I cut that person out of my life because I don't have the energy, time or inclination to deal with that psychosis. Trump is the same way. I need a leader that can make me go back to my way of life and ignore politics again.

Thing is--I'm not sure I can ever put that genie back in the lamp. Now that my radar is attuned to what is going on in D.C., I may never feel comfortable enough to stop indulging in politics.

Trump was that red alarm. That "no more fucking around" alarm.

And, to be wholly honest with you, I fear his base more than the man himself at this point. The way they support and talk about him...it's scary. Like a cult. Like some sort of a spell was placed over them. Creepy.

reply

I do agree that if the coronavirus lingers to November or if we have a crash it will greatly benefit Biden. I really hope neither of those things happen but the truth is this president isn't equipped to combat either properly.

reply

The fact that Trump STILL isn't taking this seriously really tells us all we need to know about how he's going to handle this crisis moving forward: bare minimum effort, misinformation, suppression, obstruction, gaslightning, reactive only when the market drops, etc...basically his entire conduct his entire presidency.

And his supporters will, as per usual, continue to sit there, nodding their stupid fucking heads in agreement with everything he says no matter what, doing gaslighting of their own, etc.

It's an endlessly-turning toxic wheel and I honestly don't understand where Trump and his supporters get the energy or willpower to sit there, constantly indulging in it. It's senseless. It's as if they thrive and feed off of chaos. It really feels that way.
