Semper Fidelis

All Confederate flags, bumper stickers and similar items must be removed from Marine Corps bases, according to a new directive from the commandant.

Marine Gen. David Berger has told his commanders to begin implementing the order or develop plans to do so by Saturday.

The following is a comment to the article. I copied & pasted it in my notes file.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” - George Orwell 1984

It won’t be long before the “Tear Down the Statues” maniacs go after a beautiful tourist attraction.

This Marine General is probably the reason I can't find Confederate Flag toilet paper for sale anywhere.

Imposing top down Orwellian political correctness that advances a false, propagandistic narrative while disrespecting the region where a disproportionately high number of your Marines come from, in singled out fashion to boot, is the opposite of Semper Fidelis ("always faithful"). It's just another sign of the disconnect between political generals and rank and file warriors.

I wonder if the next step is to begin airbrushing out of photos the numerous rebel flags proudly displayed by Southern troops liberating concentration camps in WW2 or rolling back the brutal Japanese Empire in the Pacific.

General Berger probably had an ancestor in Andersonville...

Guess not in prisons like Camp Chase or "Hellmira".

Semper Fidelis has been replaced by Ascendo Tua apparently.
