On President's Day, Obama takes a subtle, important jab at T-rump

President Obama has stayed mostly quiet throughout T-rump's presidency the past three years, and the lies which T-rump constantly spits out about Obama's presidency. But today, Obama gave T-rump a subtle jab which has proven very important during our current economic times.

One of the biggest lie which T-rump has told and continues to tell on the campaign trail is that he 'turned the economy around' since taking office, and now we're enjoying the best economy ever because of his policies. Aside from T-rumptards, everyone knows this is not true at all. On January 20, 2009 Obama inherited the worst economic recession since the Ice Age thanks to the Republicans, and in less than a month laid the groundwork to save America from another Great Depression. That is when he signed signed the Recovery Act, which kicked off the strongest economic growth which has lasted more than a decade - and which T-rump is benefiting from today. And this was the subtle jab Obama gave the President today - bursting his balloon, and setting the record straight with voters. Tweeted Obama:

"Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history," Obama tweeted with a photo of the 2009 Stimulus Package.

Trumpers to this day deny Obama any recognition at all for the economy while praising Trump endlessly for it--including initiatives that were Obama-born.

I didn't much care for Obama, but you know what?

During Obama's presidency:

-I never feared for the quality of my or my wife's lives

-I never feared racial attacks against my wife

-I never feared that established laws would be trampled

-I never feared people would attack my wife and I

-I never saw racism on such an enormous scale

-I never saw such flagrant and obvious abuse of power and attempts to cover it up on THIS large of a scale

-I never saw this many Americans openly, shamelessly and even EAGERLY embracing the concept of dictatorship

-I never saw dismissal of news and reality by such a large number of my fellow Americans

-I never saw an AG THIS obviously corrupt

-I never saw THIS many associates of a single president being indicted/convicted/suspected of crimes

-I never saw ignorance and hatred on this scale

-I rarely ever paid any attention to politics

For all his shortcomings, I felt safe under Obama. He conducted himself like a gentleman and knew how to act presidential.

As someone who wasn't a huge Obama fan...I miss him. He was the last of the "normal days" before everything became Trumptopia. I miss that way of life. I...miss Obama. I tell you--when 2012 rolled around, I was HOPING Obama was going to lose. Now I miss him like hell. That should indicate to you just how bad Trump is that this mode of thinking would EVER enter my brain. Wow...

WOW is right. I did like Obama, and voted for him in both elections. I knew he had much to offer, but was afraid the racist republicans would try to stop in his tracks as soon as #MoscowMitch uttered those words to make sure he was a one-term President. I think history will be very generous to Obama, and credit him for all the good he was able to get done, and very fair to all the hurdles he had to overcome as the country's first black president.

reply

Donald, on the other hand, will be remembered as the absolute polar opposite of all that.

reply

He will go down in history for all the wrong reasons, and he has no one to blame but himself.

reply

He'll also be IMPEACHED forever. He can NEVER expunge that.

reply

Despite what republicans try to say! He’s been impeached -period.

reply

I am not an Obama fan either. He has been timid as a President and carried out mostly Republican policies that is not very obvious because the whole time Republicans were attacking him pretending to be mad. Obama seemed clueless to anything but keeping his head down and trying to play nice with Republicans. The Democratic party in general has deserted the people - which means that representation to more than half the American population has been ended and it is only the rich that can get whatever they want done.

But I don't understand anyone who is not a multi-millionaire voting Republican.

From 2018. CNBC of all places...

Just a couple of thoughts. First off Obama did everything he could think of to TANK our economy. He (like all democrats) also piled more regulations on our businesses. He also started Obamacare which was nothing more than a socialist "you pay for someone else's medical care" system. Oh & the subject of him setting up a good economy came up with the White House head economic guy who covered it in a briefing. The booming economy started almost to the day Trump took office. He guy also pointed out that he told Obama that some of the things he was doing would kill the economy but Obama went ahead with them anyway. Obama isn't only an idiot but also a big phony to try to take credit for something that his actions were the opposite of doing.

Lol! Your post is very funny!

I bet you’re one of the T-rumpers who wanted T-rump to end Obamacare, but leave the ACA alone.

reply

But, Doggie how can you argue with the facts and graphs. Please explain what you believe with facts. To be fair to Bush, Obama, and Trump, Congress writes the checks. The Clinton administration handed a surplus to the Bush Administration, 9/11 & the debt jumped, but soared under Obama. Then look at at Trump, “To Infinity & Beyond!”

I try to find objective material which explains much better than me. I am willing to read an objective article from you. Please read the following and remember I’m just the messenger. Let’s keep it civil. ☺️

There is a price to pay in setting growth on fire. The two big ones are that to call what we have growth when he blew up the debt and deficit even more is just dishonest. To remove regulations that saves the environment also costs more in money and health effect that it yields back - but Republicans just ignore the costs to workers or soldiers.

> Obamacare which was nothing more than a socialist "you pay for someone else's medical care" system.

Sounds like any insurance policy, but when you have the whole nation getting healthcare you have the largest pool of people and the most efficiency of scale possible.

The thing you Republicans never do is to take your criticisms farther to the point of actually looking at the numbers and trying to prove them - you just look to Trump to tell you what to think. For example you talk about all these regulations, but very few Republicans can even point out one single regulation?
