I read some articles stating that the tabloids were racist against the couple, specifically against Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. That's what caused her and her husband Prince Harry to "step back" from their royal duties.

Good question. Maybe the two of them just wanted to be away from all of the publicity and news about what's going on in Britain these day. Who can blame them for wanting some privacy.
