What do you think would have happened if the Axis Powers won World War II?

I think if the Axis Powers won World War II, there would be a power struggle between the victors, just as what happened in our reality. I think the difference would be that Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan would be fighting a more "active" war than the Cold War that happened between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. There would be more direct fighting between the two as they try to conquer the world.

Also, territory would be more tightly controlled by the two world powers. The world would have been polarized much more than if the Allies were the victors.

I think Japan would slowly progress to a quasi-constitutional monarchy in the Prussian sense - the Emperor would still retain a lot of power but the Imperial Diet and the Prime Minister would serve as an effective legislature too. Voting rights would only be limited to Japanese Males over 18 or something. Their territory would make up most of Asia and the Americas.

I think Germany would be a totalitarian empire with no human rights whatsoever (except for certain "Aryan" people.) The Fuhrer Adolf Hitler would be the supreme leader, as well as his descendants or appointed successors. Their territory would be all of Europe, Africa, and some of Asia and the Americas.

There may still be some rebel groups in far reaches of the world who would want to restore freedoms before World War II...but they would have to work covertly.

They would have appointed Trump to oversee the USA.

Heh, that's probably what would have happened!

The real question is how could the Axis have won? I
believe it was inevitable that they lost, however they were victorious in their goal of destroying a good portion of the world.

What a nightmare scenario!

I just finished watching Man in the High Castle which was a series about the Axis winning. A lot of what you wrote was in the show and I agree would likely happen. Japan and Germany could work out a deal to divide the world with Japan controlling Asia and Germany controlling Europe and Africa. Germany had the Eastern U.S. and Japan the western part. Mass genocide of blacks, Jews, Hispanics, Arabs, indigenous people, etc. Slavery, labor camps, sex slavery, forced sterilizations, etc. It would be hell on Earth. Even German people would be subject to death if a child was born disabled because of their eugenics beliefs. Opportunists and sympathizers in former democracies would side with the Nazis too. A very weak resistance.

The show takes place in the 60s and has a sci-fi component re: alternate realities but it's still interesting to visually see.

I have yet to watch the show or read the book fully but I will get around to doing so eventually!

This is one of the few times that I thought the book wasn't as good. Acting was amazing.

There would only be an active traditional war if no one had developed nuclear weapons by the time they eventually fought each other, with a very one sided, devastating "war" if either power did acquire them first. The Japanese regime was at least as racially oriented as Nazi Germany was, but lacked the mitigating influence of millennia of Western Civilization and Christian morality, where even the Nazis felt compelled to rhetorically dance around to justify their oppressive acts, and Japan would have had similar or fewer human rights as Germany as it did in real life, not more.
