The sadness of what CNN has become

It amazes me that they get any more regard than the National Enquirer or any other tabloid at this point. Their journalistic integrity is laughable. I actually searched the CNN site to see how they handled the recent exchange between Biden and the farmer he called "fat". They only reference the exchange in one article, and NEVER mention the fact that he called an older gentleman fat, a point that would have gotten weeks of coverage if Trump had said it. They are now literally omitting news that doesn't fit their biased narrative. Say what you will about Fox news, but they at least have the dignity to spin the news, rather than pretend it didn't happen. I think CNN is now only appealing to the mentality weak and handicapped, and they can point to themselves for helping Trump getting a second term, because they have helped expose the media bias and corruption because of their own blatant mishandling of news.

Trump fat shamed his own supporter:

Trump making fun of a reporter with a physical disability:

BTW, Fox omits news and makes outright lies all the time.

reply

CNN certainly "covered" those stories, lol, so thank you for proving the op's point.

Actually CNN outright lies and commits acts of shoddy reporting (all in Democrats' favor) all the time, as evidenced by the "disability" propaganda you linked to. In one of countless examples where FNC's journalism proved to be superior to CNN's, they actually researched and found that Trump used exactly the same mannerisms and comical voice as impressions of numerous other people over the years who weren't handicapped, debunking the DNC/CNN claim by putting together a brief montage.

reply

Are you saying that Trump doesn't bully or make fun of anyone? LOL!

reply

He counterpunches, but the topic is CNN's shoddy propaganda status. Try to keep up.

After watching that video do you acknowledge that the anti-Trump talking point that he was mocking handicapped people with his impression of that reporter is incorrect?

reply

Fox propaganda piece. Obviously Trump was making fun of a disabled journalist who he demonized as enemy of the people and had one of his Trumpites sending bombs to them.

Biden counterpunched too. No story here. Move on.

reply

That's exactly what Biden did, especially since the man brought up his son.

What do they think T-rump would have done if a reporter tried to go after Ivanka in front of them?

reply

Exactly! Why are Trumpites complaining about Biden behavior when they believe it's acceptable when Trump does it? Very hypocritical, don't you think?

reply

Because "hypocritical" is their middle names.

reply

Did you even watch the video, LOL? Are you claiming Fox doctored all that footage or that all those other people (including Ted Cruz) whom Trump mocked exactly the same way are handicapped too?

reply

Video can easily be doctored. It's called SFX.

Anyway, the WH insider said the reason why Trump held rallies wasn't to discuss policy. He goes to rile people up against his enemies. The insider and others witnessed it for themselves and talked about it. Trump was even warned about toning down the rhetoric because it could incite people to violence.

Do you understand how there is a difference between a politician momentarily losing his temper and a politician purposely inciting rage in order to manipulate a group?
Dividing Americans is not a good thing. I understand that his base feel "special" and "part of an in-group" which makes them feel better about themselves, but overall it's damaging to the country as a whole.

reply

Video can easily be doctored. It's called SFX.

LOL! Are you claiming Fox doctored all that footage showing Trump repeatedly doing the same mannerisms during impressions of other people over the years? Is that seriously what you're telling me you believe, Keelai?

Meanwhile you're putting stock in vague, subjective fake news BS from an anonymous "insider" about how Trump's supposedly trying to "divide" the country? While Trump's rhetoric is actually unifying, what's more divisive than calling yourself "the Resistance" and launching a purely partisan effort to impeach an elected president?

Remember it's Democrats who attack millions of American voters as "deplorable", "garbage", and other nasty names, not Trump.

reply

Don't try to gaslight me by editing your original comment that I had addressed.

Once again, you're speaking out of ignorance. You hadn't read the book, but yet you're going to comment on it.

It's very obvious that the Steady State consisted of people like Mattis, Tillerson, McMaster, Kelly, Sessions and a few others. Are you calling them partisan? Anonymous is obviously Republican unless you can begin to name Democrats in his cabinet.

The Steady State including Kelly knew that Trump wanted to surround himself with Yes men instead of people who would protect him against his worst instincts and give honest information and advice. He warned Trump not to appoint Yes men or he'd end up being impeached.
https://time.com/5744414/trump-generals-military-experience/

Trump calls millions of Americans rapists, enemy of the people, dumb, low-IQ, vermin and other names. His rallies are meant to attack his enemies.

reply

I didn't edit anything, halfwit. You didn't even say what I supposedly edited. And stop trying to deflect by shilling for some low brow fake news book and lying about other things Trump has said. Answer the question.

Do you really believe Fox "doctored" all that footage in the montage debunking Democrats' "he mocked the mentally handicapped!" talking point ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsaB3ynIZH4 ), or did you...misspeak? If the latter, do you acknowledge that particular Democrat attack against Trump at least is wrong?

reply

A 73-year old man bullying a 16-year old child is vile. And he's the president of the United States!

https://moviechat.org/bd0000082/Politics/5df532bf53363308a712f0b4/A-Warning-book-Chapter-8-We-the-Electorate-excerpts

reply

Your craven failure to admit the "Trump mocked mentally handicapped people!" claim was wrong despite it being definitely debunked destroys your credibility, so there's no reason to take you seriously when you try to change the subject and spew another lie.

reply

Typical that you would defend a child abuser!

Greta Thunberg is autistic which confirms his tendency to attack disabled people.

reply

You're a proven liar, so until you clean up your mess on the "mentally handicapped" BS you're only making readers think the accusation that Trump's somehow "bullying" Thunberg is also BS (which it is).

Greta Thunberg is autistic which confirms his tendency to attack disabled people.

😄😄😄😄😄 If you're joking with that line then kudos. The tragic thing is I'm not certain you were joking.

You're still defending a child abuser!

reply

I have no idea what Biden had intended to say to the man but whatever it was it came out as “But look, fat, look. Here’s the deal,”. My guess is that whatever he was trying to say got jumbled up in his mouth and came out wrong. The words as spoken make no real sense and when someone calls someone fat, they don't do it like that. Had he intended to call him a fat bastard or some other derogatory term for overweight people? No clue, but realistically based on what he actually said it's inconclusive at best what his intended message was.

I'd also have to point out that CNN is primarily a broadcast news source, not print and the incident got plenty of coverage on the network where the exchange aired in its entirety numerous times. Here are three different segments including Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper covering it:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=--dRT4eeQW0

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cWx8SL0RYRo

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GLWZ1gW1RUI

reply

I like that you offer a balanced perspective, but I do think your being generous. It's far from inconclusive, because Biden definitely called him fat, and probably was going to add something but caught himself, which is why it sounds so awkward. I don't think it's that big of deal personally, people slip and say things when they are upset. I'll agree that print isn't CNNs platform per se, but they DID write an article, and completely omitted that part. Do you really think that would be the case if it was a Trump slip. It's their complete lack of journalistic integrity that is the issue.

reply

But you come off as completely disingenuous. Biden garbled something about fat and probably caught himself as it slipped out. Yet Trump fat shames on purpose because insulting people is his comfort zone.

FOX: Ignores the cannibals
CNN: Ignores the vegans who wear leather boots
You: Gosh that CNN is so pathetic

reply

Actually Biden gave a whole spiel contrasting his own alleged lifestyle with that questioner's supposedly "sedentary" lifestyle, in addition to challenging him to a push up contest, so obviously his angle of attack was about the guy's weight.

reply

Why both shouldn't be running as much as Trump should be leading. They're both suffering from early stages of dementia and amnesia. Sadly he's the supposed only 'moderate' candidate from the left while the others are further left to the point of being called radicals by some in their own party besides Trump doing it constantly.

Yeah, CNN covered it a few time already in their youtube channel that I regularly tune into from time to time. The contrast difference is large when you see CNN then look at Fox News. In the end, it's always one side sees some other view while the other doesn't and vice vera. Ah, magic.

reply

When you've been living in an alternate reality created by right wing media, the truth will seem like lies.

reply

Ummmm, I'm not sure where you've been, but even liberals don't accuse the media of being right wing. You're basically just talking out your ass.

reply

You think Fox doesn't qualify as right wing? Political talk radio?

reply

Oh, you meant that I personally live in a right wing news alternative universe. That's remarkably ignorant, purely speculative and incorrect. Besides that, read my post again. I acknowledge and pointed out the fact that they spin, but I can't say they simply pretend the news didn't happen.

reply

Do you really believe that or are you just saying this to be provocative? This former Fox host would disagree with you:

https://www.businessinsider.com/former-fox-news-host-juliet-huddy-hosts-lying-by-omission-2019-10

Fox omits news unflattering to republicans all the time. I've noticed it on numerous occasions where all the networks will be covering a breaking news item about trump and there will be radio silence on Fox.

reply

A former disgruntled Fox employee ON the network CNN, speaking negatively about Fox? Lol, great source.🤣

reply

You're right, her opinion is hardly needed to confirm the obvious. If you applied the same scrutiny to unflattering stories on Trump to Fox that you're applying to CNN on Biden, you'd recognize the same lack of coverage by omission in spades.

I don't have an issue with your criticism of CNN in this regard, only that you try to hold Fox above CNN by claiming they don't do this when they do it all the time.

reply

If I sound like I'm championing Fox, I don't mean to. They certainly have their own agenda, and don't go through any efforts to portray a balanced perspective. This was such a bizarre way to report, because it was a story about the confrontation itself, but then makes a point to avoid discussing the details of the confrontation. I could see Fox skipping the story altogether, or definitely twisting it, but I can't say I've seen any news organization obviously avoid discussing the primary focus of the story to avoid a negative light to the party they obviously support.

reply

Your whole premise here seems sketchy.

You say CNN has no journalistic integrity because they refrained from going along with the theory that Joe Biden's awkward use of the word "fat" was intended to be an insult to the guy's weight. Yet you admit it was used awkwardly as it didn't fit the rest of his sentence, as if Joe caught himself.

Considering it didn't fit with the rest of his sentence, and considering we don't know whether he caught himself or not, I would argue that refraining from that theory would be an act of journalistic integrity.

Meanwhile, the insult that was indeed blunt and not awkward at all was the "damn liar" part. CNN criticized him for it. They called it undisciplined.

reply

T-rump is now promoting OAN, since FAUX hasn't "been too nice" to him.

reply

Fox News thanks you for your continued subscription and your avid viewership!🤪🤪🤪

reply

They lost T-rump and his followers to OAN. I’ll try to stick with them by proxy.

Looks like they lost some T-rumptards to CNN according to this thread.

reply

Don't worry. They're still the #1 watched cable news network. Thanks to people like you. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......🥴🥴🥴

reply

Great news!

reply

To paraphrase Shitstorm27, "CNN thanks you for watching".

reply

Well, we now know how you feel about it. And it isn't worth squat. Just shut up and watch faux news and lap it up like a dog. Don't pretend you have any thoughtful remarks that need to be shared.

reply

To be fair, we are all just gathered at a message board conversing. I'd say nothing that anyone says on here is actually impactful or "worth a squat", yet here we both are just the same. So, I guess I'm missing your point?

reply

You can blame the loser who runs that network. He has a personal vendetta against Trump, and has totally lost the plot. Just ask Project Veritas.

reply

Better to be a "loser" than to be a degenerate pervert like the one that created Fox News.

And of course you know Project Veritas is the king of fake news, which is why you admire it.

reply

Thank you for admitting that Jeff Zucker is a loser.🤪🤪🤪

Think what you want about Project Veritas, but it doesn't change the fact that information they exposed is factual. Amy Robach is fact and ABC had to run damage control. CNN staff is fact about the Zucker calls. It only reinforces what the public already knew.

Ignorance is Strength, phony man.

reply

Yeah, it says a lot about the rest of the media, when that story barely got covered.

reply

From what Project Veritas said, the idiot running CNN now knew Donald Trump back in the days of "The Apprentice," and they even worked together. I'm guessing either Trump insulted him personally sometime back, or the guy suffers from a very acute case of TDS that involves becoming a near sociopath in how he runs his news network now. I have no doubt the other lamestream news stations have the same problem: people in charge who loathe and detest Trump for some reason or other, and force their reporters, journalists, and news correspondents to only talk about one message (though many of them, they don't have to force). The fish always rots from the head down.

reply

He fat shamed the voter repeatedly, implied he lived a sedentary life, challenged him to a push-up contest and also an IQ contest, and stopped himself before outright calling him fatso. Then he said the voter was too old to vote for No Malarkey Biden. Also turned his back on him the same way he turned his back on that latino guy he condescendingly told to vote for Trump. This amid the recently gone viral "hairy legs" video, where we are convinced he slipped up and referred to black children as roaches.

It’s not new. CNN has always been hard left. They were founded by leftwing billionaire Ted Turner. He married Jane Fonda whos claim to fame is fighting with communist North Vietnam against the US during the Vietnam War. She’s considered by many to be a traitor.

CNN has always been a joke to those educated in modern politics. Along with the rest of the communist Democrat Party media.
