He chose to die. He had many options which he refused. He could have returned to the U.S. or he could have went to Vancouver and live in a specialized center.

He could see his son via Skype or fight thru the courts to have visits from time to time.

Your complaint about Canadian health care is nonsense since he would still be alive if he decided to live.

In the U.S. he would need to become destitute in order for medicaid to pay for a nursing home.
