T-rump economy rolls on...Gas prices will be the highest in five years over Thanksgiving weekend
T-rump's booming economy is going to take a toll on Americans traveling this upcoming holiday weekend - gas prices are expected to be the highest over Thanksgiving weekend in five years. Gas Buddy is predicting the average price across America will be $2.56 a gallon to fill your tank with regular unleaded. In Utah, the average price is expected to be just under $3 a gallon.
Patrick DeHaan, the head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, says this will be the third straight year that average gas prices will be in the $2.50s for the holiday weekend. Usually, the price of gas drops an average of ten cents between mid-October and mid-November, but this year the drop was only five cents.
According to a survey by Gas Buddy, 30% of Americans say the high price to fill up their tanks have made an impact on their holiday travel plans. There is an expected 7% increase this year over last year in travel plans, overall.
