Another GOP Congressman calls it quits

Republican Congressman Francis Rooney of Florida's House of Representatives announced this weekend he's not seeking re-election , after serving two terms in the House. Rooney has been an outspoken critic of T-rump, and the first Republican who spoke out about being open to impeaching T-rump.

“I thought the idea was you came and did your public service and left, you accomplish what you want to accomplish and you left," Rooney said in an interview Saturday on Fox News. "And that’s what I want to be an example to do. And I’m also tired of the intense partisanship that stops us from solving the big questions that America needs solved.”

The announcement came one day after telling CNN that he couldn't rule out the possibility that the president committed an impeachable offense in his dealings with Ukrainian officials. "I don't think you can rule anything out unless you know all the facts," he said.

Rooney also said he was 'shocked' by Mulvaney's admission there was a 'quid pro quo' in Trump’s communications with Ukraine, even though Mulvaney tried to walk it back later on in the evening.

“He basically said it’s a quid pro quo, which is not a good thing,” Rooney said. “The only thing I can assume is he meant what he had to say. ... It’s not an etch-a-sketch.”

Which Republicans are the bigger cowards? The ones who remain silent or the ones who speak out after they announce they're quitting instead of staying and fighting for what's right?

I think the ones who remain silent. The others can still have a voice as a firmer Congress member.
