I bet the Canadian Conservative party will win the election.
You?
shareHow's Trudeau's black/brown face pictures controversy going down over there?
shareOh please. I only care about policies and not some stupid shenanigans that politicians did some 20 years ago. It's a personal issue. Let's talk about things that actually matter and affect our country (i.e. immigration, pipeline, economy, etc).
shareI was curious about the impact. Do most people share your view or is it a scandal? I did see him give a cringe worthy public statement where, among other things, he desperately showed off his "wokeness" by apologizing for his "layers of privilege". To me that mind set is the real scandal and the growing problem is a lot bigger than just one craven politician in scope.
shareOnly the right-wing makes a hoot about it whenever Trudeau's name comes up. Other than them, I don't think anybody really cares.
Trudeau is annoying. Always apologizing for everything. It makes him look weak.
Do Canadians ever grumble about the PC regime? It's bad in the US, but it seems even worse in Canada with the government flirting in various ways with criminalizing supposedly "offensive" speech, even jokes told by stand up comics. Are there Canadians who push back against the inane "privilege" assumption and other premises of New Left models that seek to exert political control through both speech and identity politics? I mean in addition to the few ones famous in the US like Lauren Southern and Mark Steyn (who was once denounced by the Ontario "Human Rights Commission" for criticizing human rights abuses in the Islamic world).
shareYeah, quite bit of Canadians that hate the PC regime.
shareWhat issue at stake in this election do you think is the most important?
shareI would say climate change.
shareSeriously?
shareYa. Also the pipeline, and immigration .
shareHow would you like to see the climate changed?
shareI think it's an important issue that needs to be addressed. Not like the Conservatives who deny existence of climate change.
shareI don't know of anyone who denies that the climate changes over time. My questions are serious. If they seem a bit odd it's because sometimes I like to examine issues from a fresh perspective, sort of a first principles things. Helps clarify thinking.
In what ways would you like the climate changed (or not changed)? For example, do you have an ideal average temperature, rainfall, etc. in mind for the world and/or Canada?
So how do you think this election will impact the climate, Eric, since you felt it was the primary issue at stake in it?
shareEric?
shareThe Conservative Party thanks you for the recommendation! It's a close race.
shareIt looks like a Liberal minority government!
shareJustin Trudeau won the election!
