They will still spend the year talking impeachment to make the media happy to have stuff to report. Its dead issue in the senate though.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Wednesday said that he is sending a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) warning that Senate Republicans won't impeach President Trump over his call with Ukraine.
Between stuff like that, even the liberal media having to face palm as it calls Schiff out for lying, and the GOP rightly shutting down this fake "inquiry" as the farce it is unless Democrats take that vote they've been cravenly trying to avoid, this impeachment push looks increasingly like a slow motion train wreck.
They can't cut it out with it in the House with it Democrat controlled. Maybe some kind of budget cut ut really just let them play the game they have going and laugh at them doing it.It will never pass in the Republican Senate the next term and then Nikki Haley takes control of president and the crazy white people issue will get shut out.
Evidence is continuing to be gathered that Trump was doing exactly what he said he was doing in that call - trying to persuade the Ukraine to go after a political rival. But the Republicans have made it clear they will totally disregard reality for political expediency.
What a traitorous, self serving bunch.
“As I said on the phone, I think it’s crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign,” - Bill Taylor, former ambassador to the Ukraine
t-Rump was trying to dig up dirt on Joe Biden and his son Hunter when neither one of them did anything illegal. He just wants to erase his political opponents. Disgusting.
Yeah. They say it was just a corruption investigation. It just happened to focus on Biden exclusively and involved Trump withholding aid for a "favor, though". That's about as serious a violation of of campaign finance laws as you can get, but the right is retreating to their bizarro world and pretending such laws don't exist or aren't important.
It just happened to focus on Biden exclusively and involved Trump withholding aid for a "favor, though".
Except it didn't do either of those things. The "favor" part didn't mention US aid or Biden, and was a casual request to look into election interference (aka Trump doing his job). Trump discussed general corruption too, not just Biden. As for why Biden was specifically mentioned, his admitted extortion involved one billion tax payer dollars, which has to rank at or damn near the top of the list on scale of potential US/Ukrainian corruption. The president has a duty to get to the bottom of how our money was used.
You never did post an actual law Trump supposedly broke. Now you're ludicrously retreating behind a vague reference to "campaign finance" laws, lol. No, the 2020 race wasn't mentioned and there was no quid pro quo at all, let alone a campaign finance violation. Even if there had been, such things are typically punished by fines.
Obama really did break campaign finance laws and was fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for it. It barely got media coverage. Now you want to oust the duly elected president for it?!? You people have lost all tether to reality.
The "favor, though" request came immediately after the Ukrainian president mentioned they needed to buy weapons from the US, which is what they needed the aid for. WT actual F do you think the context of his request for a "favor, THOUGH" was? It was just a "casual" request though, so it doesn't count or something?
The Ukrainian prosecuter was removed because the European Union agreed he was hopelessly corrupt. This happened after the Biden investigation was finished - no longer active.
I guess when you live in a world of delusion like you, it must be hard to comprehend what people are doing in the real world.
Trump had to mention it at some point during the conversation. It wasn't tied to aid though, not that it would have been illegal if it had been. Presumably you don't consider Biden admittedly using an aid package to extort something from Ukraine as illegal.
Shokin disputes your claim that the investigation wasn't active. That's why it's important for us to get to the bottom of this and confirm the truth either way.
I guess when you're a delusional partisan hack, it's hard to evaluate issues honestly, rationally, or fairly. You tend to ignore your own titanic hypocrisy (e.g. DNC/Clinton paying for dossier and actually soliciting campaign dirt on Trump in Ukraine and elsewhere; Obama officials framing Trump officials and lying on FISA warrants to spy on Trump campaign) and do things like dodge the other stuff I just posted about above. You also get outraged that the truth might be coming out (e.g. Wikileaks; Biden; Crowdstrike), and find yourself on the side of trying to suppress it.
