First Lady Melania wants government action on e-cigarettes, to 'protect the children'

Trying to stay relevant, Melania T-rump took to twitter yesterday, taking aim at the vaping industry and asking the Department of Health and Human Services to take action. Tweeted Melania:

"I am deeply concerned about the growing epidemic of e-cigarette use in our children. We need to do all we can to protect the public from tobacco-related disease and death, and prevent e-cigarettes from becoming an on-ramp to nicotine addiction for a generation of youth. @HHSGov"

Remember when she said she was 'deeply concerned about the growing population of children being held in cages at the border in the #TrumpCOncentrationCamps' and asked for the government to step in and protect the health and well-being of those children, when the death toll was rising?

Me neither.

reply

So...you're for kids using ecigs?

PS. Those kids are free to leave at anytime.

reply

You truly need a remedial reading class.

There was no mention of me saying I'm for or against kids using ecigs. No opinion at all from me.

I asked if anyone caught her plea to the government to step in and help those children living in her husband's concentration camps set up on the border, where living conditions are deplorable, and there have been deaths reported. I never heard anything from her, so I'm wondering if someone missed it.

PS. Rather than asking for government intervention on this issue (since republicans believe government interference with our daily lives is bad), shouldn't she just be asking us to offer our thoughts and prayers to children who are using e-cigs? After all, that's how Republicans want to protect those same kids in schools from gun massacres - through thoughts and prayers.

reply

Your TDS is so bad that you somehow tie the first lady discussing e-cigs into kids in cages. Someone put this sick dog out of its misery.

reply

Again, you truly need a remedial reading class.

I'm discussing her passion for children and their well-being and questioning why she supports one issue and not the other?

You still can't give a comprehensible answer.

reply

As a non-smoker who has asthma in part due to second hand smoke, I am vehemently against all forms of smoking: from cigarettes to weed and vaping.

Having said that, I think Melania is an absolute idiot. She's just as bad as Trump in her own way and she's shamelessly in this situation for $$$ and nothing more. I don't give a good goddamn what she has to say about anything.

We need a mouthpiece on this--we sure don't need hers, though.

reply

Ban vaping, keep assault rifles. Makes sense.

reply

And offer thoughts and prayers to the children who lay down their lives in bloody school massacres.

reply

Assault rifles have been long banned for a while in this country. Try again bozo. Side note, vaping is not a constitutional right.

reply

Thoughts and prayers to the vapers, thoughts and prayers!

reply

I'll bet not a single one of those "2nd amendment! 2nd amendment! My rights will not be infringed!" nutjobs have ever lost a child in a school shooting.

reply

Andrew Pollack.

reply

Yeah, I've read about him. His reasoning feels misguided. Horrible tragedy, no doubt, but the fact of the matter is: every nation that has universal healthcare, reduced work hours and some form of gun control ALL have less shootings/crimes than us here in the USA. That is simply a fact.

reply

It is a simple fact. Unfortunately, not everyone can grasp simple facts.

reply

Yep. They don't WANT to either. In fact, every time I ever mention this or see OTHER people mention it, it's always meant by extreme and sudden anger from numerous people at once. I think it's fear mixed a sense of feeling "inferior" to other nations. Rather than just swallow their pride and admit: "Hey, Norway and New Zealand, etc. are onto something! Let's try that here!" they, instead, clam up and say: "well, if you don't like our healthcare here then LEAVE!".

No wonder our government is taking us to the cleaners: too many idiot citizens putting their hands on their hips and going: "I don't care what other countries are doing! We're 'Murica, so we're special!".

reply

Can you imaging a land where T-rump was the dictator and all the T-rumptards lived under him? Hahaha! After they exhausted blaming liberals for everything 9about three days), they would cannibalize each other - realizing how stupid their fellow T-rumptards are.

reply

Why wait? They can cannibalize each other right now for all I care.

reply

I agree.

I used to work with a guy who was a crazy Trump supporter. I'm talking CRAZY. The guy cussed all the time--F this and F that. No on really cared for him at my work.

Anyway, this guy used to say things like: "I wish California would sink into the ocean" and called Obama the N-word all the time.

Anyway, this guy always talked about his guns and every weekend he would say: "I think I'll buy some more bullets this weekend.".

He used to always talk about how "it" was coming and he was "armed and ready" for when "it" does. He also talked about how he's fire out his front door at any agents that would come to collect guns of citizens when "it" comes.

A lot of Trumpers mention "it". I've heard a lot of people in real life offline mention "it" and they never say what this "it" is. Is it that dumb "Second Civil War" the Trumpers keep threatening?

Anyway, this guy was full of nothing but hate. NOTHING but hate. Always angry and bitter. Always complaining about "the democrats" and he even asked me one time: "I bet you voted for Obama, didn't you?" to which I replied: "Nope". He didn't have anything to say to me in response to that.

He also always acted uncomfortable whenever I spoke to my other coworkers about my wife's immigration process and her obtaining her citizenship. He wouldn't dare say a word, though. He DID, however, always talk about illegal immigrants and how he wishes he could "dump them all into California". Guy was nuts. Sadly, he's the embodiment of the average Trumper you see online and proof that many of the Trumpers online who seem like trolls may not be trolls after all but legit people. Scary, huh?

That guy was, by FAR, the craziest Trumper I've ever witnessed offline. All the others I've known/do know offline seem moderate at best and seem like they only voted for Trump out of partisan bias rather than outright support of him.

reply

He sounds like a typical T-rumper. I'm sure he's one of the members on this forum - won't name names here, but I think you can guess.

reply

I think, if you peeled the layers away, most of the ""Trumpers"" on this board are comprised of two or three people, tops.
