T-rump cancels visit with Denmark PM after she calls his 'Greenland' purchase absurd
T-rump has abruptly cancelled his visit to meet Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, saying there was no point to the trip after Frederiksen called the idea that the U.S. might buy Greenland from Denmark "absurd".
The September 2-3 visit was scheduled as part of his European trip. His Tweets on Tuesday confirmed the trip would be focused on his purchasing Greenland.
"Denmark is a very special country with incredible people, but based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time," Trump wrote.
"The Prime Minister was able to save a great deal of expense and effort for both the United States and Denmark by being so direct," he added. "I thank her for that and look forward to rescheduling sometime in the future!"
After the tweet, the White House clarified that the entire trip to Denmark had been scrapped, including a planned meeting with the Queen of Denmark.
"Greenland is not Danish. Greenland is Greenlandic. I persistently hope that this is not something that is seriously meant," Frederiksen told reporters before T-rump canceled the visit.
For their part, both Frederiksen and the Queen of Denmark were relieved they each didn't have to invest in "pussy shields" before T-rump's visit. They made it known not only is Greenland not up for 'grabs', but neither are their pussys.
