I’ve deleted a number of posts that violate MovieChat’s Community Standards on my own initiative.

I think you're probably trying to be a straight shooter, but I don't like mostly substantive posts being deleted just because I tacked on the word "moron" to them as a well deserved punch against someone who instigated insults.

It's perplexing why Jproof's post here where he called B1cKsurN a "dumb-dumb" (completely unprovoked) is still standing when my reply and most of what followed got deleted. His post began the insults and that exchange.

Inconsistent rules no one understands is a recipe for disaster, and overly aggressive censorship seems out of step with the "free speech" emphasis this place was founded with. I'd personally prefer no posts be deleted unless they're illegal. I could understand deleting those violating traditional societal standards, like porn or F-bombs. Maybe even racial epithets, if consistently applied. But it's bizarre to allow curse words, sex stuff, and some insults, including some vile attacks, while censoring other insults, even just the word "moron" which is almost never censored even on heavily regulated sites. Letting some insults stand while deleting others isn't going to go well.

It'd be better to let up some on censoring regular insults and save deletions for the really nasty stuff. At least then there would be rhyme and reason to it and people would get a feel for how far they could go.

MC has been censoring in high gear for a good 6 months. And yes it’s politically motivated. End of discussion.
