We didn't have mass shootings 30 years ago, so why now?

Why has it become so rampant in the last few decades? Its correlation, and its clear. Society and morals have gone down the drain...

Shootings have gone up but so have the following
Gay marriage
Abortions
Illegals
Trans weirdo people
Rise of socialism

Correlation.

People don't want to hear it but ALL this stuff was foretold, millennia ago.

reply

No need to go back a millennia. The TV show, Naked City, did an episode in 1969 of a guy who just walks around town randomly shooting people. It was called "Burst of Passion": https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0656772/. YouTube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwnLL_hHxW4

Stop shitposting. We've had countless mass shootings since the University of Texas Bell Tower massacre of 1966.

reply

They were much rarer until about two decades ago.

reply

They weren't a lot of them, but they started happening more frequently in the 1980s. Back then, the news media even came up with a slang for this type of shooting. They called it "going postal," because a large number of them were of postal workers killing their coworkers. They stopped calling it that when stuff like Columbine and V-Tech massacre pretty much made a mockery of those types of mass shootings.

reply

Pills for everyone that wants them.

reply

It's all about the need for people to have some type of fame or recognition for doing this, or at least most of the time. Several shooters have actually said as much. But the media still turns them into celebrities.

reply

We didn’t have a racist president who was proud of being a white supremacist and promoting anger until now.

reply

These shooters are young white men who have been radicalized by people like Trump who is a white Nationalist. They most likely know that they are going to be shot and that is their one moment of fame.

Or as Republicans like to call them - "lone wolves" and then try to connect them to the Democrats.
