first Trump domino falls...rest to follow

Paulie "Dumbnuts" Manafart indicted for lying and conspiracy. Hopefully soon more of the traitorous greedy crooks within the Rump administration will join him.

Not sure how much it will really effect Trump as its relates primarily to activities that happened a few years ago that had already drawn interest before and was bound to come up in this investigation. He was fired from the campaign. So at this point if this is the worst, Trump is likely fine.

reply

His associations with Russia are supposed to have continued well up through the time he was part of the Trump junta.

Trump voters will always say Trump is fine, and that everything is a nothingburger. They are so in denial it's scary.

Donald Trump has known Paul Manafort for 40 years. Manafort owns a home in Trump Tower. Manafort worked on Trump's campaign for months, and was at the June 9th meeting (where Donald Jr. did not report the email to the FBI but said "I LOVE IT").

Within hours of the meeting, Donald Trump publicly states he will have new info on Hillary Clinton's emails. Trump is linked to Manafort, that June 9th meeting, the Russians, Wikileaks/Roger Stone and the whole swamp crew.

I'm loving how the White House is trying to spin Mueller's investigation as being "close to over." Genuine laugh-inducer, there. These indictments are just the tip of the iceberg.

reply

Well I am not a Trump voter, I am just calling it as I see it. This indictment seems to indicate the investigation is failing to find concrete things to put on Trump. If Mueller had better he would have used it. The investigation is still going on so we will see, but in the end this is something to make alot of noise about but will do little if this and the aide is all the investigation has going for them.

Investigations of this size and scope don't immediately jump to the top of the pyramid with indictments...they whittle away at the base of the power structure while moving upwards.

If you know of, or remember, Watergate, that investigation was ongoing for well over a year until it got to the point of having enough dirt to proceed with impeachment against Nixon. And the bastard finally, wisely, fled office with his tail between his legs.

And if he pardons them and fires mueller...a shit show that will make the Saturday night massacre look like romper room will ensue!

reply

I understand this, it will take a little more time. This isnt the 70s though, so using that timetable may not be a good comparison. I think at this point Mueller has not found what people are looking for, and this indictment was designed to spring something loose, which doesn't appear to be working. I am not saying there is nothing but I am saying this also does not appear to really be something either. Meuller has to do more, if this is the best he has than the investigation is done, if he has more than we will see.

My problem is whether this investigation is even worth the time, its extremely unlikely Trump will leave office before his 4 years are up about all this will likely do is make a 2nd term unlikely. Like Whitewater, this appears to function mostly to make the Presidents term difficult, where he could be guilty but there is not enough there to do anything with it.

Let us all remember who the Feds are dealing with

Just saying...hope he framed a better response when pleading not guilty...

As Mueller is keeping everything about his investigation extremely close to the vest and revealing nothing about his strategy, it's all speculation at this point...

However, considering how some of the questionable shenanigans of the Trump campaign are already on record, such as Flynn, Kushner, and Trumpie Jr, and that none of them have been named yet, I thoroughly believe that a lot more worms will be uncovered within this investigation as having dirty-dealings. And it could be likely that King Trump won't be directly implicated at all, but still if enough of his junta are named or charged, the guilt by association will be enough to neuter him and make all his policy attempts disrespectable. If that is the furthest this investigation goes, I'd be happy with that and consider it worthwhile.
