Guess the film - relevant to politics

Here are the clues:

1. Made in the mid 80's
2. About famous journalist
3. His son was recently in the news
4. Actress who starred in the film was recently in the news
5. Her child was in the film.

Lots of nepotism going on.

I was thrown for a moment because I didn't associate Heartburn as a film so much about journalism as the dissolution of the marriage between Nora Ephron and Carl Bernstein. But to be fair, you never specifically stated that it was a film about journalism.

Tell the truth, you had to look all that up. I was pretty sure no one would get it. It's a film kind of lost in time.
