... most adults are exageratedly mean (even if they're not aware) to the point of being cartoons, while the protagonist (even if they're an adult too) is the complete oposite? These are the ones I can think of at the moment:
-MATILDA.
-CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (I don't remember if the same thing happened in the original).
-CORPSE BRIDE.

All the Roald Dahl ones pretty much. So The Witches has to be here as well. But most orphan driven narratives belong here too, like Annie, Oliver Twist and Unfortunate Series of Events. I'm sure The Rescuers and loads of other animated films belong here as well.
