I would love to see women bring something to the franchise, directing or writing, but changing the gender of the main character would be probably a step too far. I think that would be another movie entirely.

I see Gillian Anderson is tweeting herself as the next Bond. At least they won't have to change the phrase "Bond girls" for potential love interests.

One of the problems with a female Bond is Hollywood has trouble portraying women as promiscuous, so this is mainly why a female Bond wouldn't work. I am open to it, but unfortunately most American audiences, I don't think would be.

That's obviously because sluts are not studs, and vice versa. Bond exists not to undermine but to reinforce such good ideas.
