The 90's re-releases vs. the original?

Around 1997 Lucas re-released all the movies and "updated" them, tweaking scenes, adding new effects or adding scenes he had wanted but had to leave out due to money or technology.

What things did you think worked out better and you like the change and what do you dislike?

Some examples for me would be (IV New Hope) I really liked the updated spacecraft scenes. When the Falcon blasts off from Tatooine, or when the fighters take off from Yavin's Moon and in the Death Star battle the effects are a lot more detailed and look better.

I hated the added scene of Jabba with Han walking "over" him and Greedo getting off and shot whereas before he didn't.

In Jedi, I think I'm one of the few who actually like the original Ewok song vs. that boring elevator music they replaced it with and I hate that they added young Anakin instead of the older fellow they had used for decades when Luke looks over and sees them. Why do Yoda and Obi Wan still look old but Anakin is some 20-year old Luke had never even seen before? I'm biased against him as well because I never liked the casting they chose for Anakin. (I know that change came after 2005 not in 97' but I didn't intend for answers to ONLY account for 1997 changes but rather ANY later changes).

Didn't mind the Han and Jabba scene, but otherwise I agree with you 100%.
