*beep*

Daniel Radcliffe has revealed he’s friends with ‘some really *beep* racist people’.

The actor plays an FBI agent who goes undercover to take down a radical white supremacy terrorist group in his upcoming film Imperium.

Radcliffe admitted that he had first hand experience of dealing with racist people through his friends.

He told The Hollywood Reporter that he didn’t meet with any white supremacists to research the role but added: ‘No, but I know some really *beep* racist people, friends I vehemently disagree with.

‘They’re not white supremacists, they would never be that extreme, but they are anti-immigration and absolutely voted to leave in Brexit.’

He added: ‘And I’m still friends with them because I don’t think that friendship should be drawn along those lines. That’d be a really sad way of viewing the world.

‘But yeah, I definitely have got first-hand experience with this.’

The Harry Potter star also blasted cab drivers in London.

‘Some of the most unbelievably racist s**t I’ve ever heard came out of a cab driver’s mouth in London, and you just go, “Dude, you’re taking a chance. I know I’m white, but you can’t just assume that I’m gonna agree with you.”

Imperium is due out in UK cinemas on September 16.

yeah, I can understand that. Have some friends who are quite racist, as far as being anit immigration etc. i agree it's not necessarily a reason not to be friends with someone. there is a whole spectrum of views on immigration.

That's absurd to think that just because someone is anti-immigration or voted to leave in Brexit, that that person is racist. Absolutely ridiculous.

Completely agree, one does not equal the other.

To you, Baldrick, the Renaissance was just something that happened to other people, wasn't it?

I'm not sure he ever said that they're racist because they voted brexit. It seems that what he meant to say is that they are racist AND voted brexit.

reply

He's explaining how they are racist since he's saying they are not white supremacists but they are anti-immigration and voted to leave in brexit. He wouldn't bring that up if he didn't think it was of any relevance.

Not everyone who voted brexit is racist but most racists are probably anti-immigration.That's probably were the relevance comes from.
