Best old school console port

The best console port of Doom is by far the Playstation version. The Sega 32X version was also very good despite of being a bit rushed and the gameplay screen smaller than the usual.

The Sega Saturn version of Doom is an abomination.

I agree with you about Doom, especially about the Playstation version being rock solid and the Sega Saturn version being crap.

I am surprised you admit the Saturn version of Duke Nukem 3D is better than the Playstation version though. I agree the Saturn version looks better, but I know a lot of Playstation fanboys that say the opposite.

Honestly it's a close call between the Saturn and PSX versions of Duke NUkem 3D but the Sega Saturn version has the edge in my opinion.
