Looking for a song.

Was going through some of my old things and i found an old burned CD with a bunch of songs from some country singer that i have no clue who it is. Using Shazam and other similar apps doesn't pull anything up and searching lyrics on Google doesn't give back any pings.

Here is the opening lyrics to one of the better songs on the album:
"This note on my pillow
and tears in my eye
are all i have left now
since saying goodbye."

It sounds like a 90s-ish style country song...
I know I'm not giving much to go on but, anyone have any ideas who it could be?
