Best Disney animated movie of the 2000's and why

On this poll I am asking what is the best Disney animated movie of the 2000's, and you can pick any Disney animated movie from either the 2000's, or the 2010's just as long as the movie was not made and released by Disney prior to January 1st, 2000 and even through Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the Lion King are great movies they were all made and released in the 1990's, and they do not count in this poll. So what do you think is the best Disney animated movie of the 2000's and why?

Since we're including every year past 2000, then my all time favorite Disney move Tangled qualifies. No Disney film fills me with complete and utter joy the way that film does. I love Rapunzel, I love Maximus, I even love Flynn Ryder. It's Disney's best animated comedy and has a very underrated soundtrack. It's got all of Disney's best attributes, adventure, romance, music, laughs, and they are all done so well. Tangled, the film that puts a Cheshire Cat grin on me every time!

Why wouldn't the movie qualify?

reply

If going by a traditional decade, 2009 would have been the cut off point. But you said favorite of 2000s or 2010s, so Tangled qualified. I probably shouldn't have started off with the comment I did, sorry.

Tangled as well, with perhaps my favourite Disney hero and heroine, one of my favourite villains, a terrific story and script, a couple of my favourite musical numbers, etc.

Incidentally, I suggest you change the heading to "Best Disney Animated Movie since 2000 and why".

Assuming that Pixar is another case and doesn't count... Zootopia. Not just due to the wonderfully scripted and solid entertainment it is, but also because it's probably the best movie Disney has ever made in terms of characters, something the studio has been lacking consistantly because simple personalities with marketable traits were preferred (also, arguably because due to the type of narration most of the time they had to work with plain stereotypes). There have been attempts lately at adding depth and layers to characters with a varying degree of success, but Zootopia has topped them all. There has never been a character like Judy in Disney films, and the counterpart of Nick isn't less unique. Characters with intricate backstories, flaws and virtues that play an active role in the narrative, and a plasticity to adapt and change through their experiences in the story, in a way that doesn't feel forced or artificially driven to reach a point or a moral. The writing is probably the best or among the best this studio has come with and it stands out in special when it comes to character interaction.

In my honest, and genuine Opinion the Best Disney Animated Movie of the 2000's is and undeniably always will be without any doubt, Disney's Dinosaur which is my Favorite Disney Film period, and inspired me to make my First Ever Land Toy Animated Film. Disney's Dinosaur is definitely the Best Disney Animated Film of the 2000's because, it is the most in-Disney like of any Disney Film ever, despite being made and released literally at the very Beginning of the Brand New Millennium the Year 2000 its C.G.I. Animation still has aged well, and holds up even to this very Day and Age, every Prehistoric Animal including every single one of the Non Avian Dinosaurs is still Scientifically Accurate, and holds up well to what we know about all of them now, it has the most Scientifically Accurate Velociraptors in any Film Making and Film Animation ever, despite being a Disney Film it is not afraid to show death, blood, gore, violence, Carnivorous Non Avian Dinosaurs killing and eating their Prey, and even suffering which I give Disney's Dinosaur major and serious kudos for, the Main Hero Aladar is the most Likable Adult Non Avian Dinosaur Main Hero I ever seen in terms of both his Personality and his Actions, it is the First Ever Animated Non Avian Dinosaur Film to feature Iguanodons, Pachyrhinosaurs, Sauroposeidons, Oviraptors, Microceratus, Stygimoloch, Talarurus, Struthiomimus, Ichthyornis and Carnotaurus in their respective First Ever Film Debuts, the Music and Score in Disney's Dinosaur by James Newton Howard is the most Epic and Prehistoric Sounding Music I have ever heard in a Disney Film, it combines both Disney and Non Avian Dinosaurs, I love listening to the Disney's Dinosaur Soundtrack so much, and I loved playing with all the Tie In Toys that were made for Disney's Dinosaur as well.
