Stanley Kubrick recurring themes

What are the most significant recurring themes in Kubrick's work.
I am writing a research project on him for school and have established the theme of isolation and alienation as one of his most important themes. Do you agree and are there any other you think I should consider?

Isolation in some of the films (2001,A Shining) but not them all.Alienation also does not apply to them all. Other themes:

Father figures,usually dangerous(Paths of Glory,Lolita,The Shining,Full Metal Jacket)

Detailed plans which go wrong (the robbery in The Killing,HAL`s program in 2001,Jack`s ambition to write in The Shining,Barry Lyndon`s ambition to be socially accepted)

The dangers posed by violence(institutionalised in Paths of Glory and Full Metal Jacket,in a group(A Clockwork Orange) or by an out of control individual (The Shining).
