Famous people you've met/seen in person?

Met:

-several cast members from The Waltons (got their autographs)
-Maggie Peterson (got her autograph and to pose with her in a picture. Very sweet lady.)
-James Best (got his autograph. He was in a bad mood that day. )
-Jerry Mathers (got his autograph. Very nice guy!)
-Betty Lynn (met her countless times. Very gracious!)
-Diem Brown (When I was in college, several years before she passed, she came and spoke on behalf of Relay For Life. It was one of the times she was in remission, probably after the first bout. On a side note, she mentioned meeting Robin Williams, who would pass 3 months before her. A very sweet and upbeat lady.)

Seen in person:

-Howard Morris (autgraph signing, unfortunately didn't get around to getting one from him, though.)
-Alison Krauss and Union Station (concert)
-Del McCoury (saw him riding a golf cart at a music festival)
-Ricky Skaggs (concert)
-Andy Griffith (saw him when he came to visit Mount Airy, NC)
-Steve Martin (concert)
-Elvis Costello (concert)
-Hoda Kotb (saw her walking around the first floor of 30 Rock, last spring in NYC. She must've just wrapped up the Today Show.)

I love Jesus Christ and am 100% proud!

Have seen and heard many stars of “Doctor Who” (classic series) at Cons: Patrick Troughton (2nd Doctor), Jon Pertwee (3rd Doctor), Peter Davison (5th Doctor), Colin Baker (6th Doctor), Liz Sladen (Sarah Jane), Louise Jameson (Leela), Lala Ward (Romana), Nicola Bryant (Peri), John Nathan-Turner (producer) and many others.

Saw Rich Little perform and got his autograph.

When I had a part time job at a car rental counter at an airport, I leased a vehicle to Efrem Zimbalist Jr.

My sister-in-law and her husband owned a gift shop in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. His shop was visited several times by John Wayne, the Dukester, himself. They described him as a great guy, very easy to talk to.

Saw Janet Blair in the Broadway road show production of “Mame.”

Saw Jack Cassidy in a play.

Have seen live performances of many “name” opera stars in, mainly, Chicago and Dallas.

I'm not going to count the numerous people I've seen in plays or concerts or whatever, just people I've actually run into in the 'real world', totally out the blue.

Alan Rickman, Foyles bookstore in London. Early 90's, he had bright blond hair (for a film role?), I was browsing the shelves, looked up and there he was, a little way down the aisle. I was too *beep* to say anything (I was a massive teenage Die Hard fan) but I sort of lurked and heard him speak to a braver fan than me in tones that were definitely Rickman-esque... wished I'd had the guts to say hello, he seemed like a really nice guy...

Bill Nighy, a couple of years ago, again in London. Just left a restaurant with my Mum, she's a huge fan of Richard Curtis movies, saw him and squealed like a teenage girl, said 'Hello, Bill!', he looked up and did that whole vaguely distracted (yet still pleasant) thing that he does in all his movies, said 'hello, hi', waved a bit and walked on...

This won't mean much to most people outside of the UK, but the late great Caroline Aherne in Manchester, huge fan of The Royle Family, passed her on Oxford Road, she caught me spotting her and gave me a beautiful smile and said 'alright, mate?'

Richard Attenborough
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000277/?ref_=nv_sr_6
came into the bookshop where I worked when I was 18. I had no idea who he was when I served him, but one of my older colleagues told me, and my mother was "squeeing" I believe it's called when I told her.
My brother once sold an SLR camera to Cliff Richard, and embarrassed himself by saying when handed the credit card "Wow, you have the same name as that famous singer!"
Cliff was pleased and invited my brother and his girlfriend to his concert in Wellington and drinks afterwards.

(I came over from the RFS board with this when someone suggested that I should) 
