Japanese New Wave suggestions

Hey all. I've been on a kick of Japanese New Wave films. I've loved a lot of what I watched, namely the films of Seijun Suzuki and Shohei Imamura, so I'm wondering if anybody else has got some favourites they want to share. I especially like ones that go in more surreal or absurd directions, but I'm up for watching anything.

It seems as though nobody has bothered to talk about Asian cinema in the last 8 months so maybe this'll just go out into the void, but it's worth a shot. I quite like a lot of Asian cinema, especially Japan.
