Western I need help with

Just started watching Cowboys & Aliens earlier tonight and a scene from a western popped in my head, and naturally I thought maybe it was in that since, obviously, I was watching it. Well, turns out it wasn't and now I am just racking my brain trying to remember. Whatever it is, the guy, our hero wasn't home and what was probably his wife and kid need to hide under the floor but the badguys still find them. Not very specific, I know. But it's just driving me crazy. Anyone have an idea? I'm pretty sure it's from a newer one.
