Halloween recommendations for 8-10 yr old girls..

Looking for some 'clean' horror or scary movies to see with kids.... most Horror flicks have adult elements flowing in it, so few that are in the 2000's and yet clean for kids to see..... Had some hope with 'scary stories in the dark', but even that had virginity, masturbation, etc references... Goosebumps are kinda cute horror, so not really scary.... A few like Sixth Sense come to mind... and the ones like Conjuring and Insidious might be a little too scary...
Yea, I know I'm not being easy but there must be some!... lol....

When my daughters were about that age, about 10 years ago, I got the original "The Blog" with Steve McQueen. They were too scared to finish it! Kids these days...

haha... how times have changed

There are a few that Disney channel made in the early 2000s, such as

Don't Look Under the Bed

Halloweentown (I'll confess, all of them were cheesy, but the first one had the best-written story)

Hocus Pocus

reply

will look up the first one... Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus were some considerations but my daughter sensed through the trailers that they are 'old looking movies'... hahaha... This ultra HD generation is hard to please

Tell her she can learn something from watching older stuff, like how different people were (or weren't) back then, or how different special-effects were in those days.

reply

yea, some things to observe and understand... you never know, she might be keen.... even the kids shows on TV nowdays use great special effects, so maybe rewind time a little bit...

Monster House, Scooby Doo, Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Gremlins, The Haunting, Nosferatu

Probably 2000's TV horror, like The Hollow (2004), or the PG-13 stuff like Haunting in Connecticut, An American Haunting, etc.

reply

hey thanks.... will try check them out..

I was watching adults movies at that age. I was mature for my age. I'm a keep it real, most horror movies are R rated. So just try to find those that have no sex in it.

The Halloween Tree, mr boogedy & Bride of mr boogedy (on Disney plus & prime), Monster squad, Casper, Gremlins

The Witches- but this might be scary

Monster High movies

maybe the original IT (90')

poltergeist

Beetlejuice

Addams Family old & new movies

Nice list.... my daughter took a while to get over 'scary stories to tell in the dark'... so keeping it light with 'twilight zone' (older series) at the moment :)
