Does Abrams not respect the Star Trek franchise?

He seems so bent on showing the ship being destroyed/ripped apart in each film.

reply

He stated he only did Trek as a stepping stone to getting the Star Wars gig. which he did. job done.

"He's dusted, busted and disgusted, but he's ok"

reply

I think he took the franchise to a level that the new generation of viewers would appreciate. He is not of the body.

Part of Social Psychology is to not let people get too attached to your fictional creation. So they make Spock die, or tear the Enterprise apart, or some other thing for what they call "dramatic effect". But in reality it's about weaning you off of your favorite fantasy.

reply

They've all blown the ship up. TOS movies, and in the Next Gen movies and the Jar Jar Abrams movies.

I more upset with his destroying the original timeline and therefore nearly the entire universe of events.

Anthoney.. I agree.. JJ destroyed Romulus in the (so called) canon universe, and then goes to the other timeline and destroys Vulcan!

And rogue Starfleet personnel are the bad guys in two consecutive movies. So Starfleet itself and the Federation is corrupt.

Hint: He himself says he doesnt like Star Trek and rather wants to do Star Wars movies.

Which he is bad at, too.
