Is Six Feet Under the greatest TV show ever made?

Yes. I've never seen another show with such sincere depictions of death and grieving. And it definitely has the best series finale ever.

Stay back, geek! It's about to get tragic. 

It definitely deserves to be in the conversation. It's a work of art, about as close to a masterpiece that I'll see put on film. I recently rewatched it these past few months and no show has impacted me as much. It makes you very aware of everything that you have in your life.

As much as I love the show, I don't know if it has the best finale though... I always go back to The Shield when I think of my favorite finales. That whole episode was one gut punch after the next. Six Feet Under is right there with it along with Justified and Cowboy Bebop (see it if you haven't.)

Watched the whole series in a few weeks time a few years ago, totally dove in and came out a different person. It's definitely high on my list, if I had a list. The finale was absolutely perfect!

I'd go along with the general consensus here...it is definitely right up there. Watching Six Feet Under was a rollercoaster of emotions, unlike any other show I've ever watched. Thinking about it makes me want to watch all over again.

Best ending for a TV series, yes.
However I think there are plenty of other better shows. But it's Top 10 Material for sure
