General commonalities that are false in real life

1. In high school, teachers did not call students Miss/Mister Last name. They didn't even do it in college! In fact, in College we called professors by their first names.

2. High schools are not simply named (insert name) High School. Where I am, many of them are Collegiate Institutes (ew).

3. Little kids do not go trick-or-treating alone. If they did, they certainly would not have late curfews!

4. High school students having cars is not a big thing. Very few of them have cars.

5. Class rings are NOT A THING.

6. People don't just hand someone over a gift box that they can just take the lid off of.

I don't know where you live, but pretty much all of those have been true in my experience.

1. In high school, teachers did not call students Miss/Mister Last name. They didn't even do it in college! In fact, in College we called professors by their first names.

That happened a lot in my high school. Not all the time, but a good part of the time the teachers would refer to us as Mister/Miss-last name.

2. High schools are not simply named (insert name) High School. Where I am, many of them are Collegiate Institutes (ew).

Every high school I've ever heard of was called "name" High School. Mine was Bearden High School. We also had a Farragut High School, Fulton High School, etc. in the area.

3. Little kids do not go trick-or-treating alone. If they did, they certainly would not have late curfews!

I have to agree with that. Most of the time an adult would be in charge of a group of kids, or a parent with their child.

4. High school students having cars is not a big thing. Very few of them have cars.

I'd say that a good 80% of the Juniors and Seniors in our High School had cars.

5. Class rings are NOT A THING.

I didn't get one, but I'd say a very large percentage of others did in my school.

6. People don't just hand someone over a gift box that they can just take the lid off of.

I have to agree with you on this one.

I think most general commonalities regarding high school are pretty falsely presented, generally lol. The same with kids. I think this list could def be longer as well.

Definitely have to disagree with #3. Once we were 8, my friends and I went trick-or-treating by ourselves every year.
