Movie that features the colosseum

It also features a boy trying to spell policeman in alphabet blocks (they still make those). He had trouble reading, apparently. The colosseum was a backdrop in one scene. What his father said about the empire might be a little offensive (they say he was a bit more positive than he should have been). He talked about - a lion waiting for a sign from the emperor on whether he should eat someone? He had two kids, the boy and a girl, both pre-teen. There also was a teenage girl skinny dipping seen from behind at the beginning of the movie. That is not all that salacious. I wonder if there were anything else that happened in the movie, because I never got to sit through the whole thing, like a rape scene. It was shown on HBO in the Regan era quite a bit. I fear it may have been deleted.

In the state of Florida, the skinny dipping has been misinterpreted as a rape scene.

Honestly, since you are dying to know, IIRC what their father said about the emperor was that he told Christ that if you want my empire to fall there will never be anyone as important as me.

Christ replied that if you think your empire exists without my allowance you are a mottled fool.

I am certain that the preteen girl was never in a love scene in the movie, the girl who was skinny dipping isn't good looking enough to crow about. Yes, the preteen girl was pretty enough to crow about.

Which makes me think there was someone else in this movie to explain its notoriety who was better looking.

Also, a terribly misconstrued scene is when he gives his children over to their father in law, the husband of his x-wife.

I remember what their father said around the coliseum. Ronald Regan couldn't do in 5 million years what Octavian could do in 5 minutes. His real name is James Harold Day, the author of the Regan revolution. It worked for 14 months. The classic book about its success is called "Seven Fat Years."
