Trying to find an old movie

I remember when I was younger I was watching a movie on network television that I never finished. I feel that it was something similar to the 1981 Clash of the Titans (I have not checked if this was the movie). All that I can remember about the film was a boy being asked to restring a bow by his father. He returns years later (now with a beard) and restrings the bow before shooting an arrow through several successive loops.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
