The Nun: The Demon Is Back To Haunt You!

Fans of The Conjuring universe brace yourselves for a much scarier film. Remember the Nun from Conjuring 2? Yes, the one whom Lorraine kept seeing in her dreams. She is all set to come to the big screens to terrorize you. Being the fifth film, The Nun is the newest addition to The Conjuring franchise.

Set in 1952 in a Monastery in Romania, The Nun stars Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene. A fun fact, she also happens to be Vera Farmiga's sister who plays Lorraine Warren in the franchise. Director Corin Hardy said that he wasn't keen on casting Taissa because of the family connection. However, he also added that "I watched 100 auditions for this role and she had some kind of presence outside of her own body that is evident, and she's phenomenal."
The demon Nun more commonly known as Valak has haunted us in The Conjuring 2 and twice in Anabelle Creation; in Sister Charlotte’s picture and later in a post-credit scene set in 1952. The Nun is set three years before the events of Anabelle creation and it tells us the backstory of The Nun.

Alongside Taissa Farmiga, the movie also stars Oscar-nominated Demian Bichir as Father Burke, Jonas Bloquet as local villager Frenchie, Charlotte Hope as Sister Victoria, Ingrid Bisu as Sister Oana and Bonnie Aarons, who reprises her role as the title character.

The story starts with a young Nun committing suicide. The Vatican sends two people including a priest and a novitiate detective, Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) to investigate the same. However, what they discover is a terrifying unholy secret of the order. Putting their souls at risk, they confront a malevolent form as the demonic Nun. Will the living win against the damned in this horrifying battle? We will have to wait to find out until the movies releases in the theatres.
Like every other film in the franchise, The Nun is also set to haunt and terrorize the audiences. The Conjuring, the first movie in the franchise set the bar of heart-wrenching, horror scenes pretty high. Thus, fans were somewhat disappointed after Conjuring 2 released. The official teaser trailer of The Nun was released three weeks ago and has received over 11 million views. The promising trailer runs high on scary moments and surprise appearances of the demon Nun and has people waiting expectedly for the movie.

Will The Nun be terrorizing enough? To find out, head to the theatres on September 7th, 2018
