Deathstalker. Why is it so weird?

Im watching Deatstalker for DVD today and holy jeez the movie is just awkard with the acting, off the wall and feels more like a soft core porn poking fun at fantasy warrior adventure movies.

It's a Roger Corman movie, he made like 4 or 5 movies on the same set, in a short period of time, with hardly any money. Probably most of it went to Barbie Benton. There was a sword and sandal / sword and sorcery resurgence in the 80's and early 90's, probably kicked off by the popularity of Conan. Most of them lacked good writing, storytelling, and acting, so they made up for it with action and sexy men and women.

why do you say most of the money went to Barbi Benton? i feel like i was giped when it comes to her nudity in this film. she should have shown more nudity and more clear, dead on, closer shot, well lit, longer shots shot nudity and more explicit nudity. i mean she was a freaking playboy playmate, she got paid to show nudity and was completely comfortable showing nudity.

Because she was the most expensive thing in the film. The set was cheap, the actors were mostly nobodies.

why do you think she was expensive?

I feel it was asked and answered already.

no it wasn't you never said why you think she was expensive so why do you think this?

soft core porn? not really. it's just has that '80s b-movie, fantasy movie, action movie look and feel. it doesn't have that much sex or nudity. just 2 or 3 nudity scenes and two sex scenes. if it was a softcore porn movie then it would incesant sex and nudity, every other scene would have nudity and sex.

i really like Deathstalker. it's a really fun film and it has a great '80s serious campy atmosphere like the atmosphere in '80s friday the 13th films.
