Hello new here and stuck

First I would like to apologies, if this post has been posted in wrong thread.

Second I am looking for a title of a movie, basically I remember as a child watching a colour film starring Ian Holm (or someone similar) I remember him having a issue with stuttering. I believe he might have been reading a twisted tail of Lewis Carroll's Alice in wonderland. What I remember he was fond of this young girl (teenager) I remember sad music, and a black pram. Maybe set in victorian times, at a stately/mansion with lots of green area I remember a body of water either a stream/river or even a lake.

Definitely not Alice: through the looking glass 1998.

Can anyone shed any light on this film, I've looked through imdb.com to no avail :/

Edit: found the title its Dreamchild (1985) sounds quiet a disturbing twist around Lewis Carroll Alice in Wonderland.
