Dhadak – Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter look promising in the trailer

Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter are gearing up for the release of their much-anticipated movie, Dhadak. Deemed to be a Hindi remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat, the movie is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced under the banner of Dharma Productions.

The trailer of Dhadak was released on 11 June 2018 at a star-studded launch event. The trailer received mixed reviews. However, both the young actors all set to kick start the promotions for the movie with a song launch for the title track.

A romantic themed track titled ‘Dhadak Hai Na’ is all set to release on June 20 2018. The music for the song has been composed by Ajay-Atul; the duo behind the heart-warming and catchy songs of Sairat. “When we first heard the narration of 'Sairat', we knew that it was going to be an epic love story. So, while composing the music of the film that thought remained at the core. 'Dhadak Hai Na' is a completely new composition, but it was made with the same thought of creating something epic, like 'Sairat', the music of Dhadak has the quality of being cinematic and dramatic,” the composers said when asked about composing music for Dhadak.

The much-anticipated trailer that was released a week ago has hit 35 million views on YouTube as of today. Shashank Khaitan has mentioned previously that unlike Sairat, Dhadak is set in a Mewadi backdrop. The vibrant sets, picturesque locations, and colorful costumes are evidently visible in the trailer. Dhadak definitely has all the makings of a Dharma movie. Evidently, Dhadak is not Sairat, not all of it. What we do get is a glimpse of the Hindi version of the crowd favorite song, Zinghat. Dhadak’s trailer runs high on emotions, heart-warming moments, chase sequences, etc. But most of all Janhvi and Ishaan give us an innocent love story worth watching. Janhvi and Ishaan seem to have put in their hearts and maximum efforts into the film.

Sairat was a masterstroke with phenomenal performances by Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar. However, it would be unfair to compare both, the movie and the actors. Will Dhadak be able to retain the original essence and spirit of Sairat? Find out at your nearest cinemas on 20 July 2018.
