Ever watch a movie at the Drive-in?

Sure brings brings back great memories thinking about going to the drive-ins. First my parents taking us and some friends. Then when I got my drivers license taking my girlfriend. Getting a Designated driver and the rest of us drinking beer at the drive-in. Sometimes we would take blankets and/or lawn chairs and sit under the stars watching the movies. Great fun! I have a neat web site about drive-ins and it lists every drive-in still open in every state. If I can find it I will post the link here.

We used to have several when I was a kid, many of them closed by the time I was in high school. There is still one open around 40 miles from me and the last time I went to that one was in 2000.

Lots of times. Well before they started just playing the same movies the walk-ins are playing. Have seen lots of slashers and eurotrash at drive-ins. Love the intermissions too.

Remember these?

The dog in the bun now looks a little perverted, but yes I do. I don't think the drive-ins, the ones I went to anyway, ever changed the intermissions but were using 30 year old intermissions...at least.

Yes, but probably only once as an adult. However, it's also been more than 30 years since I've watched a movie in a theater.

Yes, I have seen a movie at a drive-in but as a kid or in my twenties. Most of them went out of business in my area a while ago. Fun times though.

Check out the link below. Just click on your state. You might be surprised just how close a drive-in is to you.

I have an active one a short distance west of my community and their open season just began.
I have many fond memories of going to the drive-in. When I was a boy, we had one not far down the road from our home; I could literally see the screen from our backyard during summer nights and guess which movie was being shown at any given time. Attending back then was a week-end family event. I've been a lover of movies since I was a kid, so inevitably, I would outlast my brothers who would fall asleep during those all-nighters. I continued to patronize that same drive-in as a teen and with my wife in my 20's until it finally shut down.

Did you check out my link? Might be one closer to you than you think.

Yes I did and the one I mentioned is in there. It's about a half hour west of here; that's pretty close. The one I mentioned growing up with was an hour east of here.

Many times. The most memorable was in 1968 watching "Night of the Living Dead" at a rural drive-in in March. There was still snow and ice on the ground. The place was fairly deserted with large distances between the cars. As the movie progressed, my friends and I heard a crunching of someone slowly approaching our car. Given the movie and our teenage years, we got pretty spooked. A flashlight came on and it turned out to be a Deputy Sheriff who wanted to know if we were doing bad teenage things but not a zombie.

Yes, I've seen at least a dozen movies at our local drive in back in the 1990's, fortunately this particular drive in still exists, the movies I've seen at the drive in that I can remember are "Home Alone", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2", "Robin Hood 2", "Wayne's World 2", "Last Action Hero", "Son In Law", "Mrs. Doubtfire", "Jurassic Park", "Angels In The Outfield", "I Love Trouble", (left 3/4's into the movie because it sucked), "Mask" (the one with Jim Carrey), "Jurassic Park 2: Lost World" and a few others that I can't remember.

We had something like that. The good thing about it was you got two movies in one. I saw she's all that and the faculty.

Yep always two movies. Once or twice each summer they would have a dust to dawn movie-thon at our local drive-in. They would show 4 or 5 movies. Even if the movies were not that good we always had a blast.

No. Never.
