Iranian cinema @ the Oscars - No more !

So, according to many of my Iranian friends, Iranian cinema had some of the best movies of the decade come out in 2019. Yet, all of them didn't get through to the nominations. Do you think it's politically backed. Iran did win like Best Foreign Pic in quick succession, making it the next best to Hollywood.

Any thoughts ?
