Berlinale Report Day 3: Viceroy's House

Viceroy's House
It was a decent film but really gained some drive in the second half. A very political film about the last british viceroy of India and the division of India and Parkistan. The first half was very dry and boring. And it had a romance subplot that could not have been any cheesier, but in the second half it got more serious and had a lot of moments of tense. The acting was solid. Hugh Bonneville was great in the lead. Perfectly cast as well. Gillian Anderson was also good, although her role was a bit limited, however the scenes she was in were totally stolen by her. And she acted more births than most british actors. Good support by Michael Gambon and especially Simon Callow. A bit soap-ish but still important and makes you think. 7/10
