I had a senior moment. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

The Planet of the Apes and The Day After would probably make the top ten. I say probably because I might be having another senior moment.

You bring up an excellent point about 28 Days and Weeks Later. Not sure that they would qualify technically,
but they would still probably be in the top ten.

Some others which would be in the top 15 are, in no particular order:

These Final Hours
On The Beach
Night of the Comet
12 Monkeys
Take Shelter
Dr. Strangelove
Planet of the Apes

I thought On The Beach was a bit dull (preferred the book), but that last scene with the banner. Wow, chills.

In no particular order:

Snowpiercer
The Road
Children of Men
Mad Max - any (this one is a bit of a cheat, but I can't choose one)
28 Days Later

Apocalypto's in there as well. Not technically "end of the world", but An end of A world.

I liked all of these except Snowpiercer.

Boo, sir! Boo!

Just kidding :P

I loved it. And Tilda Swinton is amazing in it.

But we can't all have the same tastes. The world would be a dull place :)

reply

True. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla.

I hated it. Speaking of Swinton, to me it seemed like she was channeling Ms Hathaway from The Beverly Hillbillies.

Would The Day the Earth Stood Still qualify?

reply

No, cause the world didn't actually end.

Planet of the Apes
Mad Max: Fury Road
The Road Warrior
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
Dr. Strangelove

reply

The lack of love for This Is The End is astonishing! I think it's all six of the main actors' best performances (Except for Franco and Jonah)

reply

Not even in my top 20.

A good list, Billy Bob, and [i]The Omega Man[/url] is definitely worth seeing.
