The single greatest Science Fiction movie of all-time?

SF is without a doubt my favorite genre, no other genre questions our own existence and reality in a similar way. There are countless great, visionary, original and unique SF movies out there, but if I had to choose the single greatest of all-time, it would be a tie between The Matrix (1999) and Interstellar (2014).

Metropolis (1927) without a doubt.

2001: A Space Odyssey

I second that, it might not be my favorite but goddamn... All the work Stanley Kubrick put into the making of this movie (considering it was made before the creation of the CGIs we know nowadays), I cannot just ignore it. If it is not the best and most impressive science fiction movie ever made it is somewhere close from it.

If I talk about my personal preferences, I would probably go with the first two Terminators, the first two Aliens and probably something like Total Recall (Schwarzenneger's version, not the Colin Farrell's mess). If you consider Cloud Atlas like a science fiction movie, I have no shame to admit that I am in love with that beautiful movie.

Don't know if it is the greatest of all time but I really liked District 9.
