Old movie, need to know the title

Old film, possibly 70s or much older, saw it like 25 years ago. All I remember is an artist/painter is out in the woods or out in nature and stumbles upon a dead body, and decides to sketch/paint it. The only other thing i can remember is when hes being questioned by the police, he changes the sketch to make it look like the guy was alive when he found him. Movie was a comedy, who can tell me the name?
