What's the name of the film where a daughter sends back evidence to her father in the past, allowing him to solve his own murder?

No not that one, this was a much cheaper production.

edit: might have been a mini-series also..

yes but the film I'm talking about didn't have any of those actors, it wasn't about messages through a radio. The film begins with the main character, a science teacher rides in his car and some metal pieces fall off a roof and into his car window yet he survives.

Haven't seen it in years but i'm pretty sure this was the plot of five days to midnight with Timothy Hutton.It was a syfy channel mini series.
