White Rapper/ Comedian from the '80s

This was probably 1987 or 1988. He was a very New York sounding white guy who did a standup act that was semi-spoken semi-rapped. I believe he started it by saying "Yo Yolonda," or something similar, and both times I saw him he ended the same way... "the only def move I had to go was to rock the house at the Apollo" and "the only def move I had to go was to rock the house on the Johnny Carson Show." Any idea who this guy was?
